I envision Motherland Memoir to be a place where people interested in Africa and its people can see stories that represent a side of Aifrca that the mainstream media fails to present: a continent full of ordinary Africans working to better the land they love and to celebrate themselves and their culture.
By featuring profiles of Africans doing inspiring things to uplift their countries and culture, I hope to change many of the unforunate stereotypes about Africa and Africans, such as that it is a continent of wild animals galore, but of people with one homogenious "African" culture.
I also hope to combat the stereotype that Africans do not strive and work hard to better themselves and their respective countries.
The posts will vary in diversity in terms of various countries and issues represented. I also hope to show both male as well as female leaders who are changing the continent daily.
